WASHINGTON — The man who opened fire on Republicans practicing for the Congressional Baseball Game Wednesday morning had a list of names on him at the time, a source confirms to WTOP.
James Hodgkinson had a handwritten note on him at the time of the shooting that contained about five names and descriptions, a credible federal law enforcement source confirmed to WTOP’s JJ Green. The source did not disclose the names that were on the list.
It is not yet clear if the names on the list were intended targets, the source said.
The 66-year-old of Belleville, Illionis, opened fire early Wednesday morning at an Alexandria, Virginia, baseball field where GOP lawmakers were practicing for an upcoming charity baseball game. Hodgkinson wounded House GOP Whip Steve Scalise and several others.
Hodgkinson was fatally shot during an exchange on gunfire with police during the rampage.
