Herndon-based cybersecurity startup Opaq Networks has bought New York-based Drawbridge Networks — its second acquisition since launching in January.
The technology from Drawbridge, which allows companies to control the various permissions and traffic across their cloud environments, will become part of Opaq Network’s security-as-a-service offerings.
Drawbridge Networks founder John Terrill and Tom Cross will join Opaq Networks, with Terrill as the chief information security officer and Cross taking on the roll of chief technology officer. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Drawbridge raised about $1.7 million in seed financing and opened offices in Atlanta and New York before the acquisition.
Opaq Networks is backed by D.C.-based venture capital firm Columbia Capital, Harmony Partners and Zero-G Inc. The formation and launch of Opaq Networks also included the purchase of New Jersey-based cyber infrastructure protection company Bat Blue Networks, which gave Opaq Networks…
